ABOUT US
John McCann is an attorney in private practice in Simsbury, Connecticut.. He specializes in Real Property, Tax and Estate Planning for highly compensated individuals and business owners. Since earning his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2000, his clients have ranged from the owners of small, local organizations to the executives of nationally recognized businesses. John also has a Masters Degree in Finance from Trinity College and received his BA from the University of Virginia in 1983.
Prior to his law career, John served as the Chief Financial Officer and Controller for a large regional parking and real estate services company. During his tenure at that firm he was responsible for the tax administration and financial planning for the company and was also called on to advise the owner's and key executives on personal tax and financial planning issues.
John's deep commitment to wealth preservation for his client's comes from the experience of growing up as a child of depression era parents who instilled in him the importance of saving for the future and leaving the next generation better off than the one before. He is also active in the community as a member of the Simsbury Chamber of Commerce and Connecticut Pro Bono Network.
John lives near the Farmington River with his wife and four children. He spends his free time coaching youth sports, playing golf and reading.
